VCU Together Update for students - May 21

Vaccine verification, masks and more

Our priorities are the health, safety and wellness — both physical and emotional — of every member of the VCU community. VCU continues to monitor, assess and address situations as they arise. This weekly update will be a resource to help keep you informed as details become available. All updates are available at Receive notifications by downloading VCU Mobile from your iOS or Android app store.

COVID-19 dashboard updated weekly throughout summer

VCU's COVID-19 dashboard provides transparent details about the number of positive cases in our community and additional data related to testing, quarantine and isolation. The dashboard was updated Monday through Friday throughout the academic year. Due to the decline in cases and low regional prevalence of COVID-19, will be updated weekly throughout the summer. Information from VCU’s fall 2020 and spring 2021 dashboard remain accessible.

Questions about masks?

Several questions have been raised since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Governor Northam issued new guidance for individuals who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Two articles published this week — one in VCU News and the other in VCU Health News to help address some of these questions.

For the university community, VCU’s Public Health Response Team will continue to review and evaluate new guidance from the CDC, Virginia Department of Health and our own VCU Health medical experts. As they put forward recommendations to VCU’s Incident Coordination Team for consideration and approval, VCU will communicate changes through these Together Updates and post to this dashboard.

How will I know if my vaccination record is verified?

Vaccine reporting confirmation is available in the University Student Health Services portal. If you continue to receive email reminders to complete your daily health check, check the status of your vaccination record in your Student Health portal.
