VCU Together update for students - Dec. 8, 2021

Our priorities are the health, safety and wellness — both physical and emotional — of every member of the VCU community. VCU continues to monitor, assess and address the changing guidance, best practices and circumstances related to COVID-19. A few reminders as you head into winter break:

  1. Traveling over break? Be sure to refer to the CDC and U.S. Department of State to be fully informed of potential health risks in your destinations and the most up-to-date travel restrictions and requirements, such as testing and masking, that may be in place. Student and employee international travelers should continually check the latest travel advisories before and during their travels.
  2. Determine if you need a COVID-19 test before leaving campus. VCU will offer a limited number of exit testing opportunities between Dec. 13 and Dec. 23 to interested students and employees. Students and employees with travel or holiday plans, especially those who are unvaccinated or may have contact with at-risk family and community members, are urged to participate in exit testing
  3. COVID-19 booster shot. Booster shots are highly encouraged when you become eligible. Keep your booster information in a safe place alongside your original COVID-19 vaccination documentation. Click here to learn more about booster shots and eligibility.
  4. Report your symptoms, positive test results or exposure. The VCU COVID-19 call center will continue operations through winter break. If you have symptoms, have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed, call 1-804-MYCOVID or 1-804-692-6843.
