VCU Together update

Boosters, flu shots, exam scheduling and exit COVID tests for VCU employees

Our priorities are the health, safety and wellness — both physical and emotional — of every member of the VCU community. VCU continues to monitor, assess and address the changing guidance, best practices and circumstances related to COVID-19. This update will be a resource to help keep you informed as details become available. All updates are available on this site. Receive notifications by downloading VCU Mobile from your iOS or Android app store.

Fall exam schedule

All instructors should inform students in writing about the details for the exam (e.g., date, time, format, etc.). Although all final exams will occur within the week reserved for finals, students in asynchronous online courses will be taking exams that are open for 2-3 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours or perhaps for several days. Instructors are encouraged to be flexible if students have multiple exams scheduled for the same time period.

Do you need a COVID test before leaving campus for fall break?

VCU is offering a limited number of exit testing opportunities to interested students and employees. Students and employees with travel or holiday plans, especially those who are unvaccinated or may have contact with at-risk family and community members, are urged to participate in exit testing.

Boosters and flu shots

While booster shots are not required, they are encouraged when you become eligible. Keep your booster information in a safe place alongside your original COVID-19 vaccination documentation. Click here to learn more about booster shots and eligibility. Employees are also urged to receive their flu vaccine. Because flu symptoms are similar to COVID-19 symptoms, a flu shot can reduce unnecessary missed time from school/work and, above all, keep you feeling healthy.
